Your Impact:
As Discord Moderator, you help create a welcoming, safe, and engaging home for the Vatic community. You are often the first person members interact with and play an important role in shaping the culture of our server. Working alongside the Community Lead, you ensure conversations remain respectful, events run smoothly, and every member has a positive experience.
Welcome new members and help them navigate the server, channels, and community resources
Monitor conversations to ensure they remain respectful, inclusive, and aligned with community guidelines
Enforce server rules fairly and consistently by issuing warnings, timeouts, or bans when required
De-escalate conflicts and resolve issues professionally while maintaining a positive community environment
Remove spam, inappropriate content, scams, and other disruptive behaviour
Support community events, watch parties, giveaways, and temporary activations through active moderation
Escalate concerns involving member safety, harassment, security, or technical issues to Community Leadership
Provide feedback and suggestions that improve the community experience, moderation processes, and server organization
Represent Vatic's values through professionalism, fairness, and respectful communication
What We Are Looking For:
Previous moderation experience on Discord or other online communities (Reddit, Twitch, forums, gaming communities, etc.)
Strong written communication skills and the ability to de-escalate conflict professionally
Good judgment with the confidence to enforce community guidelines fairly and consistently
Familiarity with Discord features, permissions, moderation tools, and bots
Reliable, organized, and able to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive situations
Comfortable collaborating with Community Leads, Administrators, and fellow Moderators
Understanding of esports, gaming culture, and online community dynamics is an asset
Travel & Availability:
No travel is required for this role
Moderators are expected to maintain a regular presence throughout the week by checking in periodically during times that fit their schedule and time zone
Communicate any planned extended absences or periods of inactivity to Community Leadership so moderation coverage can be adjusted as needed
